Sivaji Ganesan

When me and brother were little, we used to tag along with our uncle for watching movies. Invariably we used to end up in a theatre which runs old sivaji ganesan movies...we used to cringe and try to convince our uncle to take us to some newly released movie. but being a diehard Sivaji Ganesan fan he won't listen to us. watching Sivaji Ganesan was always a dreadful experience in my childhood.

Of late while listening/watching the old songs in youtube i realize what a great actor is he, and how foolish we were. even before i join in art college i draw a portrait painting of the legendary actor from the movie Veerapandiya Kattabomman. that made my uncle so happy. Today i can understand why! I am happy too.

Mahabharata Sketches

Mahabharata has always been one of my major interest and inspiration from the childhood days. I grew up listening to various stories of the great epic. It all started with a story book from Amar Chitra Katha. I still remember the first character i read about. It was Abhimanyu. the warrior prince. By the tme i grew up listening various versions of the great epic, today there is not a single character i dont like.

It is my ambition and wish to illustrate from Mahabharata, to introduce the younger generation about the greatness of our country and culture. I take immense pride and pleasure that i born in this country the great bharat. In that aspiration these are my humble beginnings.  Many more artwork to follow!

The first sketch is of Karna.

Another is of Arjuna, and his Guru Dronacharya.
